He is a 1971 graduate (with honors) of American University in Washington D.C. where he earned his undergraduate degree and a 1974 graduate (with honors) of George Washington University Law School, also in Washington, D.C. He was a civil and criminal prosecutor for the State of Ohio for over twenty years before he entered private practice where he has focused upon immigration law.
